Pranayams in yoga are called breathing exercises. Regular breathing exercises keep internal organs healthy and free from all kinds of ailments. Pranayams even help cure diseases completely. All ailments will disappear for good. Breathing exercises supply fresh oxygen in the blood circulation. Purified blood circulates throughout the body, helping cure the ailments, as it uses the lungs capacity to the fullest teaching the correct way of breathing.

Basic pranayams should be practiced like abdominal deep breathing, kapalbhati & anulom vilom but under proper guidance.

Deep breathing relaxes the mind and prepares it for Meditation later. Breathing, hence is followed by meditation as ur mind is  relaxed, calm and cool.

Meditation are of many types, its better to learn simple techniques which can be practiced at home by yourself, beginning with controlling the mind as everything starts and ends with countless thoughts running in our minds. So, first step is to  trying to keep mind cool, calm at ease and then rest follows.
A session of power yoga includes lots of breathing and at the end focusing on pranayams & deep meditation. RELAXING END.
